We so are doing that! I brought lots of corn stalks to the kiddos, they are running while holding them high, husking the ears and plucking the kernels into pails that they shake and "cook" with...so much fun! They have harvested the gourds we planted last spring. The school bought lots of pumpkins and hay bales. Pumpkins and gourds are lifted to the top of the slide and rolled down. I added banana boxes, and they fill them with produce and pull them around. They put their bodies in the boxes also.

Yes we are squeezing every available bit of joy from these fall days at Creative Environment Day School!

Good morning Tracy, Thank you for reading and cheers to growing our ball of yarn. :)

Thanks Julie for your gentle and persuasive post. Encouraging words. They made me remember my trying to untangle snarled fishing line as a kid. Surgical removal was sometimes the best path forward.

Thank you Gary for reading. Oh I can see that tangled fishing line now...brings back memories for me too. What patience to sit and gently untangle it.

😑 An introduction to stoicism?

is this a book you're currently reading? Ryan Holiday has a few books related to stoicism I've enjoyed reading.

I’d like to claim that. It was this kid faced with a bird’s nest of monofilament line and not the resources to buy more at the time. When the line has been on the spool too long, the never ending loops proliferate.

Thanks for mentioning Ryan Holiday. Still learning. Thanks.

That must have taken you a long time to sort through...plus those lines are so thin.

Sure thing on Holiday. I'm right there with you...still a student.

In Poise there is a quote from Edith Wharton:

Some things are best mended by a break.

True or not, throughout my dance with C, I told myself that the invader was an opportunity.

I believed I was strong enough to handle whatever the disease was going to toss at me.

There is a lot of cancer "baggage" in my family. I viewed my experience as an opportunity to write a different story.

And another great quote that had me rethinking and pondering...I loved that about your book. Thank you.

Dear Julie,

Oh my! Thank you for your generosity of appreciation -- sharing -- and love.

Additionally...

Thank you for this opportunity to work on my ability to accept appreciation, sharing, and love. For some of us... this is really hard!

One of our knots, tangles, kinks, and/or snarls?

Thank you.

I am grateful.

Love,

Gail
