If faith depends on favorable outcomes, the faithful would be few in number. After 77 years, I have concluded we will never understand why bad things happen to good people. That’s why I take such joy in each breath. ♥️
Thanks for your reminder, Julie, through your poetry and commentary. That Jeff continues to be in remission, and his recovery well under way, is always welcome news to my ears. Acting on one’s believing and fostering positive expectations for a good outcome (yes, even a Miracle) were hallmarks of how you navigated everything. And of course continue to do so every day. Many blessings for you and your family.
I'm so happy to know this was helpful for you today Gary. Thank you so much for being here with us. Many blessings to you and yours as well. Peace be with you.
And perhaps the greatest gift is that maybe G-d acts through the loving kindness of others which you and your family received when most needed. Yes, such a blessing.
Yes...learning everyday! I'm grateful I'm paying attention and listening to His voice to guide me. Thank you so much Claudette. I wouldn't have made it through without you all and my Jesus. xoxo
A line from a Matt Maher song came to mind as I read this post,
"When I can not stand, I fall on You,
Jesus, You're my Hope and Stay".
Faith is an amazing thing, as is the strength and calm God provides to those who follow Him. Doesn't make it easy, though. I related to how running helps you, piecing things together or giving you the space to think about something other than the thing at hand. I used to think that was selfish of me, when I could "escape" the issue du jour, but I found that cardio clears my head and makes room for dealing with what's at hand. My husband said early on in our marriage, "I'm not going to deal with the what-ifs, because I'm not there. I'm here. I'm dealing with what's in front of me, and for now, that's perfect". Thank you, as always, for sharing your story. Praise God for healing, strength, provision. Onward!
Must death be so near?
“No atheists in foxholes”?
Honor G-d Always….
I wrote the following poem many years ago:
With each breath I am nurtured
With each inhale I am sustained
With each lung full I am loved
I now know I am not the “breather”
G-d is breathing me…
What a beautiful poem Clark.Thank you for sharing with us here.
I'm glad I didn't lose my faith during this terrible time. I recognize it could have certainly gone the other way. I'm grateful.
