Thank you, Rebecca, Brad, and Beth for joining the RWC writing group yesterday. It was so great to write together.

I’ll keep you posted on the next writing group dates/times in September.

     MAKE A RUN FOR IT

Darkness thick
Right foot follows out
into the warm
morning.
Make a run for it
I say
Before my mind
gets in the way.

I can’t wait for her
Don’t give her time
to catch up
her squeaky voice
interrupts—
Stay in bed
It’s too dark out
Run another time
We’ve had a good run
Yet—I’ve retrained my mind

Run first
Don’t think
Clothes laid out
Sneakers at the door
Run loop ready
Slip out
Make a run for it
My body shouts

Clouds hide the stars
Where is the moon?
I look up into
the darkness
There she is
Good morning Moon.
Let’s make a run for it!
It will be light soon.
