Let’s get real about the mind/body connection through stories and poems. Join me on June 6th at the Brewerton Library.
Make a Run for it
Darkness thick.
The right foot follows out
into the warm morning.
Make a run for it
I say
Before my mind
gets in the way.
I can’t wait for her—
won’t give her time to catch up.
Her squeaky voice interrupts—
Stay in bed,
It’s too dark out
Run another time.
We’ve had a good run Yet—
I’ve retrained my mind.
Run first, don’t think
Clothes laid out
Sneakers at the door
Run loop ready
Slip out—
Make a run for it! my body shouts.
Clouds hide the stars
Where is the moon?
I look up into the darkness
There she is
Good morning Moon.
Let’s make a run for it!
It will be light soon.
