I LOVE this, Julie! I’m no stranger to the black toenail - only one, in my own (short!) running career, the result of listening to the person trying to sell me running shoes, rather than my own research and the advice of my running club mates! Still, although my toenail was a dubious sight for months it did eventually fall off to reveal a super duper freshly-squeezed brand-new nail beneath!

“Unique.” Wise beyond his years!

I have learned how to give myself the best pedicures ever bc I simply don’t want to subject a nail salon to the dreaded black nail. I guess my signature robins egg blue nail polish is unique!

Good for you Amie!! I've been avoiding the salons as well because of my feet...LOL! The robins egg blue nail polish sounds fabulous. :) Thank you for sharing.

It is wonderful to contemplate my daughters (or sons) labeling me as "unique". We are so lucky as parents when our children recognize us as real human beings - purple toenails and all.

My sister was still young, so she lived with us when my mom died. One day she dropped a big can of tomatoes on her toe. The toenail never grew back, and she was self conscious of it. Her solution was to paint all her toenails and the spot on her toe where the nail ought to be!

Oh OUCH! I love her solution though and I can certainly relate. I have black and purple nail polish that I will use. LOL Thank you for reading/listening in Claudette.
