Miles Ahead

a poem to stay out there
The best time of year to run…enjoying the lights.

              Silent & Light

Snowplows nowhere,
only silence
and ankle deep powder stretching
miles ahead—
a glitter street of white.

Big puffy flakes dance in the dark
happy their season has come
and I run into it,
into this brief, beautiful world
where every breath makes light.
