Good morning Gail,

I resonate deeply with this line "practiced setting worries down"

Thank you.

Love this haiku and the surprise last line which contrasts so starkly with the second. I seldom achieve that “surprise “ ending but I have read that is a key signature to a great haiku. Terrific ❗️

Thank you Clark. 😊

The image of the tall pines stretching upward, toward the blue canvas (to borrow your phrase) is uplifting. No pun intended.

Zeroing in on the extra day this year due to Leap Year was my activity. I pondered all the possibilities. “I wonder, I wonder, kept churning in my brain.

The Universe answered, “Be here now.”

“May this day be merry and bright

And may all your Snow Yoga be right.”

Good morning Gary,

Thank you for your message and yes we do get an extra day this month! How exciting. Thank you for the reminder to "Be here now."

Have a magnificent Monday! We are getting sunshine again....3 days in a row. :) WOOHOO!

That we (Izzie) are, Julie. After the spicing up of life from yesterday’s “Tornado Warning” amid a day of complete drear, today’s sunshine was such a gift. I wish you continued energy and focus while you proof your upcoming book.

A friend of mine runs AZ Bat Rescue. You can follow her on Instagram.

Bats, not bees, are the world’s most effective pollinators (the major pollinators of agave - tequilas and cocoa - chocolate). Great information at merlintuttle.org.

Thank you so much Donna, I had no idea bats were pollinators. I appreciate you sending me the information. So cool! I learn something new everyday! Many thanks.

Hmm...that seems like something that would touch my inner core. It reminded me of my first snow run in the woods - what an incredible feeling to slowly move through the white forest. The quiet penetrated my noisy mind, calming everything inside of me. I'm sure snow yoga would have a similar effect...that is if it ever snowed here again!

Hi Jack, your description here of a run in the woods was very similar to my experience of yoga in the woods. My mind was quiet and my senses were alive!

Thank you for chiming in. always great to hear from you. When is the last time you go snow?

Expand full comment

Weeks ago, I'm afraid. It's unusually mild now - more like wearing shorts instead of snow gear...

Bummer...we are also having a mild winter. It's like spring right now! It's wild. I hope we get some snow end of the month.

Expand full comment

The unfortunate part of having mild weather this time of year is that my mind has already started shifting gears into spring mode, so a follow-up dose of winter won't necessarily be welcome.

I hear ya! I think I experience that every winter in Central NY. We seem to some how get a huge snowfall at the end of March when we are all ready for Spring.

I am lucky if I can do much of anything. I do like walking around our yard and the woods are right there too. Sad that so many trees are dying though. I follow the trail through them when it is warm enough.

Faith, That is something!! Walking is the best thing you can do I think. :) Good for you and I hope you had a fabulous Birthday!! xoxo
