What I say to myself, and what I say or would say to someone else is exactly the opposite. Why is it, that I am so critical and judgemental about myself: my eating, my training, my daily routines, etc., but a whole big bag of encouragement when I talk to someone else? Self talk is such an important part of self care and general well being.
These questions I wonder myself. Why are we so mean to ourselves—we need to stop! I would beat myself up awful! I'm so glad I'm working on this and learning how much what we think and believe plays into how we feel not only emotionally but physically! Give it a go today Beth and can't wait to hear about the Hood to Coast Relay?
It was awesome! Our team did finish, we did it with 12 runners in 38 hours., and about 2 hours of sleep between Friday and Saturday. Your book was a real treat for all of us in my van to read during our down time. Looking forward to our next writing time together.
Beth this is amazing!! You all ROCKED IT! It sounds like such a great race and it's on my list now for sure. AND you read my poems in the van! HA! You just made my night. So cool. Thank you Beth. Yes, in tomorrows post I'll share the writing group schedule for September. :) Hope you can make some of them. Let me know.
This summer. I only got a 30 minute lunch break. I am used to 60! 30 to walk and 30 to eat! I chose to eat. W R O N G choice! After only one week, I could hardly hobble from the Nature Barn to the Art Room. It took several weeks of reversing that choice before I could walk without a lot of pain. So grateful to have my legs back!
Ashley let me bring in some veggies and fruits to munch on as I was with the kids for open art. That used to be TABOO , to eat in front of the kids. So just raw veggies and cut up fruit all day.
It would have been nice if that resulted in loss of weight, or at least less tummy, but no luck there.
That's ok though. A 70 year old gets to be a little fat!
SO glad of this post this morning, Julie - it's exactly what I needed to read! 'Body and mind adapt' - indeed they do, and I'll aim to remember that! :D
When I started Summer camp, I only got 30 minutes for lunch. I am used to 60! 30 to walk and 30 to eat. I did not want to go all day without food, so I ate. After a week, I was S O R R Y . Wrong choice!! I could hardly get f

I'm so grateful for you too!! Curious what you did? 15 minutes each? Or ate as you walked? Have a great week. xoxo
